The AMD Bristol Ridge processors will launch in October 2016 to the OEM market. The new series utilize the Excavator CPU core and GCN graphics core architectures to deliver increased performance on the same process node.
AMD has done some fine tuning with their latest processors and that should be visible on Bristol Ridge processors. Teh upcoming Summit Ridge processors should be available in Q1 2017.

AMD Bristol Ridge will support DDR4-2400 memory which is faster than Intel’s Skylake which supports DDR4-2133. Support for PCI Express 3.0 and M.2 is also included. SATA Express is also provided which will slowly replace the older SATA.
The AMD B350 chipset features 70% power reduction over its AM3+ predecessor (5.8W vs 19.6W). The DDR4 memory controller also offers roughly 22% more bandwidth.
As AMD develops the AM4 platform we expect the range of CPU and motherboard choices to grow considerably.
Bristol ridge APUs will sell on trays for under $100 wich will be integrated into low cost desktop machines. Boxed retail APUs will follow in the market as more motherboards become available.
