The HP Willow is a socket AM4 µATX motherboard for AMD processors. This board is seen in the HP Pavilion 510-P101NP Desktop PC.
- SSID: 822A
- AMD Socket AM4
- AMD A320 Promontory FCH
- 2x DDR4 memory slots
- supports 4GB and 8GB DIMMs
- 2x SATA III 6 Gbps
- PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot
- M.2 slot key A
The HP Willow is a low cost motherboard suitable for µATX desktop systems.
The board uses the standard 2×12 power connector and it has an ATX12V power connector near the opposite corner. The HP PSU is 180W which is not enough to support a video card or more than a 65W processor. A better PSU would go far to better take advantage of the PCI Express slot.
A majority of users will take advantage of the integrated audio and video capability.. The HP Willow has VGA and HDMI ports for video present.
The AMD Promontory FCH replaces the older SB950 for southbridge IO. It uses 1/3 the power. The HP Willow uses only 2 SATA III ports, one for the hard disk and one for the DVD drive. The M.2 slot is available for SSD upgrades. AMD Promontory FCH also provides the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability.
There are 2 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports on the rear IO shield. There is the standard Ethernet port. A basic audio header for speakers is present. There is a header for front panel USB 2.0 ports but there is no USB 3.0 header present. The HP chassis has USB 2.0 ports.
We expect to see a plethora of AMD AM4 socket motherboards at CES 2017 show in January,
HP will be offering a range of Bristol Ridge APUs for this motherboard.
The Willow 2 changes from blue to green making it easy to identify which board is used for repair or refurbishing of machines.
