The long awaited move the the 7nm hardware will be met the the new Radeon VIII which is slated for launch on February 7, 2019. MSRP $699.
The card has 4 fewer GCN units compared to the Vega 64 but the clock speed is 1800 MHz which compensates handily. The memory is doubled to 16GB and 1TB/s bandwidth is available.
The embargo leaks are generally good and they should do much to get enthusiast attention when the cards become available in the coming weeks.
The Radeon VIII should be a popular card for gaming. Miners have largely powered down their hardware due to the collapse in prices. The flood of Polaris cards is flooding eBay and driving prices down rapidly.
