Resident Evil 2 / Biohazard 2 was released on January 24, 2019 by Capcom who also developed the game. Resident Evil 2 / Biohazard 2 is a remake of the classic game released in 1998.
RE2 is a survival horror game that was developed by a team of 40-50 people over a period of about 21 months. Now the remake is reported to be done by over 800 people working to deliver 110% of the horror classic.
Gameplay of the original was isometric but now its third-person similar to the more recent releases.
The game story has some differences compared to the original, mostly as Capcom elected to develop the story more deeply. The visuals possible with a modern platform are largely responsible for the changes.
Just as the original was, Resident Evil 2 is separated into two similar, but ultimately different campaigns. One follows the rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, and the other Claire Redfield, a civilian heading into Raccoon City looking for her older brother.
One change in the combat system is the use of disposable knives for killing zombies. Overall the mechanics are a bit less demanding than say Resident Evil 6. This is mostly to made the game more similar to the classic game. There are range of guns to use.
Zombies take an immense amount of bullets, with even headshots only doing minimal damage, so you’ll have to know when to run and when to stay.
The campaign takes a good 6 hours to get through which is a lot better than some recent games. At the E3 in 2018 this game was by far the most anticipated.
