Asus has announced a new UEFI BIOS upgrade for all of their LGA1151 motherboards. The new BIOS adds Kaby Lake support so those who want to install one of the new processors will be able to do so.

Generally the Asus Update can handle the upgrades for existing users automatically. It’s also possible to upgrade the BIOS with a USB stick if desired.

The leaked details of three new processors include the Core i7-7700K, Core i7-7500U and the Core M7-7Y75. It is clear that the first processor is the flagship processor of the desktop lineup while the remaining two are built for the notebook families such as Kaby Lake-U and Kaby Lake-Y.

We expect to see more new processors to come to become available into 2017. It was announced on 16 July 2015, that Cannonlake has been delayed until the second half of 2017

Kaby Lake will have 200 series chipset (Union Point) using LGA 1151. The new boards will support existing LGA 1151 processors and the largest advantage will be additional PCI Express lanes for new processors.. The MSI Z270 Anniversary motherboard will launch in late Q4 (November 2016). We should see several new motherboards soon.
