Intel has launched a new i7-8086K for the Coffee Lake Z270 motherboard. The CPU has 6 cores with hyperthreading and it has the 630 integrated graphics with 24 execution units. The unlocked CPU can reach 5 GHz with the turbo core and adequate cooling.
The CPU was named for the 40th anniversary of the 8086 processor. The device id is 0x3E92.
The stock CPU is designed for a 90W platform but overclocked it can reach 130W which is the design maximum power.
The CPU can reach 41.6 GB/s with grade A memory. Depending on the motherboard the CPU can support DDR3 or DDR4.
The i7-8086K also can support up to 64GB of memory with 16GB sticks using a conventional dual channel setup.
The UHD graphics 630 can support 4096×2304@60Hz and external panels are supported up to 4096×2304@60Hz with DisplayPort. DX12 and OpenGL 4.5 are supported.
The CPU has sixteen PCI Express 3.0 lanes. The chipset can provide additional lanes for M.2 slots etc
