The 7260.HMWWB.R is a revised model of the original AC-7260 with revised core logic.  The AC-7260 can achieve 300 megabit speeds at 2.4 GHz and 866 megabit speeds with 5 GHz. This model is the top SKU for the AC-7260 line and it has the fastest speeds possible.

The AC-7260 is equipped with dual transmit and receive channels (2T2R) to be able to achieve the higher speeds.

Beware that installing this Wi-Fi card in a laptop machine may result in a BIOS white list fault and the machine will refused to boot. You must have a BIOS that has the white list removed.

The AC-7260 has a pair of coaxial connectors which need to be connected to the laptop antenna leads.  Once the card is secure, attach these cables carefully and then reassemble the machine.

The AC-7260 delivers 802.11ac with great connectivity. We installed the 7260.HMWWB.R in our Lenovo x220 laptop which previously had an Intel Centrino N1000 card. The 7260.HMWWB.R fits the slot perfectly and the antenna placement is exactly the same.

The Intel 7260.HMWWB.R has many software and firmware features for corporate use. This is includes robust security as well as connectivity.

Actual speed will depend on the access point capability as well as the internet speed available . Connecting to wave 2 802.11ac access points delivered over 150 megabits of real bandwidth with two streams using 80 MHz channels. Actual speed will vary on network loading and the number of users connected to an access point.

The Intel PROset driver and utilities include many useful features such as having more access points available with several components for various needs.

The Cisco Compatible Extensions are not installed by default so be sure to select the CCX Support with custom install options. Additional support for enterprise requirement is also fully supported.
