We have discovered that some M.2 SSD drives by Intel are not working with WIndows 10 version 1803. Some Toshiba drives were noticed as well from Japanese media reports.
- Intel SSD 600p
- Intel SSD 6000 Oro
- Toshiba XG4
- Toshiba XG5
- Toshiba BG3
Evidently the affected machines are booting to the UEFI shell or worse. We have seen such problems with Bitlocker at times, but not indication if that is causal yet. Intel is usually slow to admit fault as they will likely be forced to replace some defective SSD drives.
KB4100403 has been released to fix problems with Intel’s SSD drives and Toshiba users will see their problems fixed with the next update Tuesday cycle.
