We have a dual channel set of 2x2048MB which is typical for memory. The 8KTF25664AZ-1G6M1 is made at 30nm so it supports the DDR3L-1600 1.35V operation. DDR3L works fine with 1.5V systems. The BIOS can reduce the voltage as it configures the memory.
See the RAM Timing page for more information on how RAM timings work.
AMD AM2 and Intel Sandy and above all have integrated memory controllers. A BIOS update may be needed to use higher capacity memory.
SPD TIMING TABLE
This table supports the full JEDEC up to DDR3-1600 which is the top speed for the standard. Since this RAM was manufactured the JEDEC standard was revised to allow for speeds up to DDR3-2133. The standard also added the lower 1.35V to accommodate the smaller feature sizes.
We have been successful at overclocking this RAM to DDR3-1866 with the M5A99FX which shows how good the Micron memory can be.
We were not able to get this memory to run at faster then DDR3-1066 speed in single channel mode with the MSI 970A-G43. Once we expand the range of machines we can test memory more extensively.
Running this RAM at DDR3-1600 speeds provides a maximum bandwidth of 12.8GB per second which is sufficient for handling dual graphics cards easily.
