Windows-10-logoMicrosoft is moving to make Windows less costly for low end machines. The new Entry SKU is for machines with up to 4GB of memory which presently are low end.

Tablets and basic laptops running Windows have to compete with Chromebooks and Android. We have mentioned this to Microsoft who has moved quickly to handle all market segments.

The company has also provided the pricing for each OEM SKU with the Entry version to be priced at $25, Value version is expected to have a price of $45 with Core and Core + to be charged at $65.45 and $86.66 respectively and Advanced is being priced at $101.

Microsoft is also apparently abandoning Window 10 S. Evidently Microsoft is allowing OEM more choices for the S mode depending on the market segment being targeted.
