WINDOWS 10 BUILD 17738.1000

Windows-10-logoWindows 10 build 17738.1000 is an interim debug release as Microsoft works through more cycles of debugging. Over the last few weeks there have been many builds released as the debug cycle continues.

This build is part of the Redstone 5 branch, which is the next major feature update due out in September or October 2018. While there are no new features or major improvements added to this build, there are two notable bug fixes.

  • We fixed an issue where downloading a big file in Microsoft Edge would stop at the 4gb mark.
  • We fixed an issue where using Find on page in Microsoft Edge didn’t highlight/select the current instance of the result.
  • We fixed an issue where after resetting Microsoft Edge saved favorites would get stuck showing a star next to the favorite name rather than populating the website’s favicon (if available).
  • Copying text from a web site to a URP apps didn’t work for certain sites.
  • The windows for Task Manager may take a while to display.
  • Tar and curl were not working on x86 devices.

A boatload of other minor fixes for various subsystems.

Still a lot of things left to fix and we expect another cycle of debugging soon.
